Dunsfold/Meadow Rise Parking restrictions

CWRA has been made aware that this "pilot" scheme is being introduced from 4th September with inadequate consultation with residents in nearby roads who will be severely adversely affected by parents and staff searching for somewhere to park. Apparently, because this is a "pilot" only a temporary traffic management order is needed, which does not require public consultation. It is the Council's intention to introduce similar schemes throughout the Borough, so it can be assumed this will become permanent. Following a one month period of grace, fines of £130 will be imposed for transgression, monitored by CCTV. There are no easy answers to the problem of traffic congestion around schools but just moving it further away is not a solution.

This scheme will add to the increasing number of parking rage incidents, cause congestion along Woodcote Grove Rd and will do little to improve pupil safety as there are no plans to install pedestrian crossings, particularly for high school students.
